What is RhinoFish Media?

Hello!  My name is Patrick Grady and I'm the founder and owner of RhinoFish Media.  Welcome to RhinoFish.com, home of RhinoFish Media!

My company:

  • Develops web properties involved in Internet Affiliate Marketing, where we are the commission earning Affiliate ourselves.
  • Provides consulting services, to both Merchants and Affiliates, to implement, improve and manage their own Internet Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising campaigns [Google AdWords, Yahoo Search (formerly Overture), MSN adCenter, Miva (formerly FindWhat) and more].
  • Starts and manages Affiliate Programs, on an outsourced basis (Outsourced Program Management), for Merchants who want to implement the Affiliate Distribution model.  We also provide consulting to improve the performance of existing Affiliate Programs for the Merchants operating them.
  • Provides information here about what it's like to be a full-time, independent Internet Affiliate Marketer so you can learn about the trade.
  • Consults with Affiliates with their site design and theme, construction and coding, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Merchant selection, traffic and conversion monitoring / improvement and ROI measurement / improvement.
  • As part of our own activities as Affiliates, and to provide educational services here as well, runs the RhinoFish Shopping Mall - it's live and works exactly as any online store would, but we don't intentionally drive traffic to it as profit center.  Rather, we use it to show examples to Affiliates that we are training and also to experiment with new Merchants and products and technologies.  Feel free to shop or browse the RhinoFish Shopping Mall - if it's posted, it's been tested and released to the public and is open for business!

As I grew my own Internet Affiliate Marketing business into a full-time venture, I noticed that it contains a lot of very interesting, yet opposite, facets and skill sets and personality types:

  • Getting traffic for free via Search Engine Optimization (SEO) -versus- paying for traffic via PPC Internet Advertising campaigns.
  • People making more than enough money to do Internet Affiliate Marketing full time -versus- the majority of those who try it and never make any real profits at all.
  • Affiliates who choose to sell products for a commission on the sale (traditional affiliate marketing) -versus- those that make money off of people clicking on ads on their web properties (ad space marketing via AdSense and similar vehicles).
  • Content writers -versus- database programmers / datafeed technicians.
  • Technically minded computer nerds -versus- sales and marketing executives.
  • A 17-year old kid in Australia -versus- a 62-year old grandma in Cleveland where both are earning a good income doing Affiliate Marketing!
  • And many more inherently opposite traits and activities and styles and backgrounds...

So I decided to pick a company name to reflect these striking differences present all around me and throughout the Internet Affiliate Marketing industry.  I also wanted the name to be memorable and for it to be easily and obviously branded with a single logo.  The glaring dichotomy of the RhinoFish, a creature that I created, seems to fit very well.  It also represents my own desires to be both:

  1. Not easily swayed by others, hard charging, solo-minded and fearless (Rhino)
  2. and
  3. Fast, nimble, sleek and adaptable (Fish)

When I put the two halves of the RhinoFish together, it made me laugh!  You won't see a logo like this in the halls of corporate America (and you won't find me there either).  The RhinoFish is too silly and free-spirited and it breaks with the expected because I'd rather... dare to be very different!
